Martin Park Church of the Nazarene held its very first service on February 16, 1958 under the leadership of Boulder First Church of the Nazarene and its Pastor, Dr. Timothy Smith. On June 29, 1958, the new Church was officially organized with Dr. Oscar Finch, Colorado District Superintendent presiding.
Including the new Pastor, Rev. Glen Van Dyne and his wife, Mary Jo, there were twenty-three charter members. Both 1971 and 1972 were busy ones for Martin Park. The new addition was built onto the Church. This included enlargement of the sanctuary. A choir room, library, Pastor’s study, secretary’s office and restrooms were added upstairs. New Sunday School rooms and a children’s fellowship hall was added to the basement. It was a time of growth both in attendance and facilities. In January of 1973, the name, South Broadway Church of the Nazarene was adopted
